Successfully Booking 'Follow-Up' Gigs with Venues

Keeping your band on the road gigging is a constant challenge for any artist. As a self-managed, self-booking artist, you need to be even more diligent in your attempts to book tour dates. In your efforts to build a loyal following in specific markets, it is important to book return dates at venues you've already played. There is no better time to begin negotiating a return date as at the time you are settling the current date. Here's what I mean: Before heading to the room where you will settle the night with the club's manager, make sure you have your tour calendar with you along with your current contract. You want to have a copy of your contract to make sure the actual settlement matches the contract figures. This also gives you a chance to write all the pertinent information about that night's gig right on the contract, such as how many seats were sold, how many of your comps actually showed up and if you have the information then, how you did in merchandise sales. Automated Itineraries

Fan management for bands, music booking agents, record companies and managers. How much time in the past have you spent looking up venue addresses, looking up the directions on Mapquest and printing them out, then making sure you go back and have all the details as to when you have to arrive, how you are getting paid, etc. It's a very time consuming process. With Onlinegigs, whenever you enter a confirmed show into the system the itinerary will list all upcoming shows automatically. Keeping in mind that you can print out the itinerary with driving directions and your only stops on your route won't be gigs, you can designate other events such as meetings, hotel stops, and interviews to be listed on your itinerary by setting up a task as a "meeting" or "other" event and checking the yes button in the "Show on Itinerary" field. Then when you print out the itinerary all of the details you need will automaticallly be there for you! That makes preparation for hitting the road much easier.
